For 11th grade students only...

Well, you've just finished the first half of grade 11, all that hard work can be put on hold for a couple of months, its now time to relax, sleep in late, party with your friends... think again!

Although you don't have to go t school or see any teachers, it doesn't mean you won't have to work. Right now, you should be thinking about:

  • Homework. Yes, I know its unfair, but the IB curriculum is so large that two school years aren't enough. So organize your home works and make sure you don't leave them all for the last week, some might take more time than you thought.

  • Studying for SATs. If you're planning on studying in the United States you will need to take the SATs. Now that your list of home works to do aren't as high, use some of this extra time to study for your SATs. You might consider buying studying books or an online tutorial. Remember, the best way to study for the SAT is to practice, practice and practice!

  • Getting a part time summer job. You might need work references to apply to a university. This is a great opportunity to improve your work skills such as working with people you don't know, obey orders from the person in charge and be friendly with annoying or needy customers. In the future, you'll notice that it is hard to get a job without having job experience, so take advantage of this time and get a jump start on your future career.

  • College Research. You will need to start your applications in a few months, so use this time wisely. While you chat online with your friends or research information for your history homework, visit the websites of the universities you might wish to attend after graduation.
